Interpol Tidbits

I. Push here to download the clicked out Swimwear Remix of Interpol's "Untitled" from their official webpage.

While the band was on tour last fall, an unsolicited remix of "Untitled" was sent to us in NYC. When the guys finally had a chance to listen to it they decided that you should all get to download it too...It was done by Velapene Screen. (for more info check out http://www.coad.to)

II. Website also relays news that dudes are back in the studio recording their followup to Turn On The Bright Lights. Word over at P-fork is that it's due in September.

III. David Kessler, Interpol's guitarist, has a celebrity playlist up at the iTune's Store. Here's what he recommends:

01. Afghan Whigs - Crime Scene, Pt. 1
02. Cat Power - He War
03. The Clash - The Guns of Brixton
04. Kelis - Milkshake
05. Quix*O*Tic - Anonymous Face
06. The Fall - Mr. Pharmacist
07. Mogwai - Burn Girl Prom Queen
08. Sonic Youth - 100%
09. The Velvet Underground - Venus in Furs (Stereo)
10. P.J. Harvey - Working for the Man
11. Serge Gaingbourg & Jane Birkin - Je T'Aime...Moi Non Plus
12. Yo La Tengo - Autumn Sweater
13. Sparklehorse - All Night Home
14. David Bowie - Sound and Vision
16. Chet Baker - Born to Be Blue
----
Pretty good list if you ask me (though, a stereo version of VU is blasphemy in my book). It works pretty hard to be hip and indie, but still works. Big Ups on the Whigs, Kelis and Yo La selections.

If you want to find something a little more leftfield, I'd suggest Soulseeking out The Sea & Cake's recent cover of Bowie's "Sound and Vision" off their latest album, One Bedroom.
