Down and Out in Florida, Maine and Minnesota

I finally got around to Barbara Ehrenreich's Nickel and Dimed. I doubt anyone needs a summary of this one. Myself, I was a little surprised about the rhetoric-to-work ratio. Granted, she got her fingernails dirty, but after all the hype I guess I was expecting a little more drama.

Not that it matters. So what if it's more rant than reportage? She bats for a pretty good average and the writing is mostly damn good. Even if you find Ehrenreich grating, there's no denying that life sucks for a lot people and ignoring it isn't going to solve much of anything. I doubt I'm ever going to hold it against someone for raising this subject. What did you think of it?

Anyone read her new book?
